Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area is an organization that mentors youth, ages 5 through adulthood in communities across the country. As the Program Manager for BBBS of the Bay Area my duties included:
* Managed and supervised volunteers and youth in both community and school based-mentoring programs
* Responsible for implementing and oversite of both programs
* Recruitment and enrollment for volunteers and youth
* Established new programs - class-to-class school mentoring with high school student mentors with elementary students in school setting - emphasis on learning and socializaton
* Conducted volunteer back-ground checks, parent/youth/volunteer interviews, youth in-home visits, child safety education, with assessments for program quality
* Assess and refer families for additional services as needed
* Develop monthly match activities to strengthen relationships
* Written monthly comprehensive reports in regard to outcomes of programming
* Enhanced best practices tailored to the needs of the rural community
* Managed interns in regard to future professional development
