Summary

I have always been around children, whether it was helping my younger siblings, spending time with my cousins, or being part of the kids activities at my mosque. Growing up in these settings taught me patience, calm communication, and how to understand what kids need in different situations. I want to bring that experience into an after school job where I can keep learning, support the staff, and help create a positive space for students. My goal is to be someone kids can feel comfortable with and someone who helps the program run effectively while growing my own skills at the same time.

Biliteracy Attainment Award

My Biliteracy Attainment Award came from middle school after we took a language test from the Language Opportunity Coalition. It covered speaking, writing, reading, and listening in both English and Spanish, and I was recognized for showing intermediate low proficiency in both. It basically showed that I could handle two languages at a solid level, and I worked hard for it. I feel like this award shows that I can communicate with different people, understand kids or parents who speak more than one language, and be helpful in a setting where communication matters.
