Dynamic wildlife photographer and conservationist with extensive fieldwork experience across North America’s ecologically sensitive regions. Proven ability to document climate impacts and wildlife behavior through independent research and visual storytelling. Brings strong customer facing experience from front-end operations at the Bozeman Community Co-op, delivering clear communication, problem-solving, and dependable service in a fast-paced environment. Recognized for professionalism, attention to detail, and adaptability while producing high quality work, including during tenure with Gibson Guitar.
My work as a wildlife photographer and conservationist is grounded in sustained physical endurance, long duration field exposure, and independent conservation and climate research conducted across some of the most ecologically sensitive regions in North America. This practice is not travel based documentation or short term observation, but extended, self supported fieldwork paired with original research, writing, and long term accountability to place.
I have conducted expedition based conservation and climate focused work across Denali National Park, Glacier Bay, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Banff, Jasper, Yoho, Kootenay, the Colorado Plateau, the Everglades, Key West, and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. These regions were revisited across seasons and years to document wildlife behavior, ecosystem dynamics, habitat loss, and visible indicators of climate stress. This work routinely involves long days in extreme cold, heat, wind, and precipitation, extended solitude, and the physical demands of hiking, hauling equipment, and maintaining vigilance in environments where error carries serious consequence.
In parallel with field photography, I have conducted independent conservation and climate studies focused on specific regional impacts. In the Everglades, my work examines water recession, altered hydrology, and the resulting effects on wetland ecosystems and species distribution. In Key West and South Florida, I have documented coral deterioration, reef stress, and the compounding impacts of warming waters and human activity. In Alaska, including Denali and Glacier Bay, my work addresses negative climate change effects such as glacial retreat, altered snowpack, ecosystem instability, and shifting wildlife behavior. In the Rocky Mountains and Canadian Rockies, my research focuses on climate driven habitat change, migration disruption, and the cascading effects on large mammal populations and predator prey dynamics. These studies are supported by independently written articles authored by me, combining direct field observation, visual documentation, and research informed analysis. My writing aims to translate complex environmental and climate issues into clear narratives that are accessible to the public while remaining grounded in scientific understanding and ethical responsibility. This work is not produced under institutional mandate, but through personal initiative, sustained commitment, and direct engagement with the environments being documented.
The physical demands of this work are inseparable from its conservation ethic. I prioritize minimal impact, long observation periods, and decision making that favors ecosystem integrity over image acquisition or narrative convenience. This often requires walking away from potential photographs, waiting days for moments that never occur, or carrying equipment for extended distances without producing images. The discipline to endure without forcing outcomes is central to my conservation and climate practice.
Alongside fieldwork and research, I independently fund and sustain this work through a self operated photography business, managing expedition costs, production, sales, and long term project continuity without institutional backing. This model requires physical, mental, and financial endurance, and allows me to remain independent while directing resources toward conservation and climate storytelling rather than commercial trends.
My conservation and climate research is further informed by academic engagement at Montana State University, where I participate in conservation focused initiatives and research informed discussion surrounding wildlife management, habitat preservation, climate change, and public lands policy. This academic grounding strengthens my ability to integrate rigorous understanding with lived field experience, resulting in work that is both scientifically informed and experientially authentic. This body of work represents years of sustained physical effort, ethical restraint, independent research, and personal risk undertaken in service of conservation and climate awareness. It is the cornerstone of my professional identity and the foundation from which my photography, writing, advocacy, and entrepreneurial work emerge.
