Skills

  • Bass playing is my jam I've been playing for 2 or 3 years at this point and still love it, I've had the opportunity take part in multiple competitions as the bass player for a jazz quartet In addition to this I've also taken bass and guitar lessons for 2 years, and taken drum lessons with Mr Jim I also got the opportunity to go to the TU Jazz Camp for bass this year, and it was fantastic Also this venue called the Low Down used to do an all ages Jazz Jam on Wednesday night that I got to be a part of a few times
  • As far as technical skill, I can play a wide variety of styles (I love Rock, Punk, Jazz, R&B, Soul, and a bunch of other stuff too), I can pick and play fingerstyle, walking bass, and I understand chord nomenclature very well I can also read sheet music if needed but it would probably be good for me to brush up on that I don't know slap bass well and generally don't play supper fast, but would be totally willing to learn how to do those things if it would equip me teach more effectively Although bass is my expertise I am also pretty good at guitar (especially rhythm guitar and jazz comping) I can play piano, and drums as well
  • As far as teaching goes, I'm currently teaching my buddy Landon to play guitar for an Alternative band we're starting Other than that I haven't had too many opportunities to teach, but when they do roll around I find it quite enjoyable

Affiliations

As far as people I know in the music world, I know a few. My uncle Donovan Fite, (leader of The Lonelys) was my bass and guitar teacher for a few years, there's also Nick Mancini who's pretty much the head of all the jazz stuff at TU. I'm also around a lot of musicians at my church. I'm currently working on learning some tunes along with three other guys in my church and once we learn them all we're planing on playing in the lobby on Sundays.

Interests

I love music, physics, and math, I"m currently getting into learning to program in Python, and tacking Calculus I also love philosophy and have an interest in law I spend a fair amount of time doing art, both digital and traditional, and I love talking to people and learning new things
