Currently receiving my Bachelors in Psychology at University of California, Santa Cruz, I am highly motivated to take risk and new challenges along my journey. I am embracing and soaking in new information to help apply my education to a real world setting such as my personal life, work, and family. As a former Student Program Coordinator for El Centro, it has enhance my skills which include multitasking, time management, and being able to work under pressure while adapting to new situations. Working for El Centro, a group dedicated to making a community for Latinx students at UC Santa Cruz, has greatly impacted my life with staying connected to my roots and the traditions of being a Mexican-American. While interning at the Homeless Person Health Project, I engaged with people experiencing homelessness with substance use disorder, working with high utilizer of the ER, housing case managers, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) case managers, and medical case managers who work with patients who have chronic health issues.
