Through my volunteer work, counseling experience, and pursuit of an advanced education, I have gained the experience and skills necessary for succeeding in anything I pursue. My need to balance my organizations, volunteer work, and education in high school and university has made me a proficient multitasker and flexible worker. My work done with the Service and Funds Committee of my organization, Aggie Fish Club, has made me a great communicator, problem solver, group and event coordinator, and confident when it comes to reaching out to strangers, non-profits, and businesses when needed.
I was in the committee designated to provide weekly service opportunities to the freshmen of the Aggie Fish Club, a freshmen leadership organization run at Texas A&M University. Through this committee, we reached out to organizations across College Station, Bryan, and the Brazos Valley area for volunteering opportunities. Some non-profits we worked with include 12th Can, Aggieland Humane Society, and Brazos Valley Food Bank. We were also in charge of our organization's annual service event, Project Fish, a day-long event where the members of our organization volunteer with various non-profits in College Station. We also volunteered as small group leaders for our organization for The Big Event, the largest one-day student-run service project in the nation.
