John J. Ahern President's Award (SFPE)

The John J. Ahern President's award was created by the SFPE Board of Directors in 1987 as the President's award, The John J. Ahern President's award honors individuals who conspicuous contributions deserve very special recognition by the Society's first president. 


In 2020, President Mike Crowley presented the Presidents award to the entire SFPE staff for their outstanding contributions to the profession of Fire Protection Engineering during a world wide pandemic. Rewarding the efforts and innovation of the SFPE staff to pivot educational opportunities to a virtual format, while also creating new educational opportunities for the SFPE community. Hosting a successful virtual Annual Meeting.  The team also continued to grow and retain members throughout the pandemic and still provide exceptional customer service.
