Hendrickson Lab, Chemistry Dept.:
In my personal research, I study how fluorescent dyes behave in different molecular environments. Currently, I utilize Gaussian and Bash to run optimization calculations to determine the electronic structure method and parameters that best characterize the light absorption and emission by these dyes.
I am also involved with Hendrickson Lab's Quantum Information Science and Engineering(QISE) research, focusing on how quantum computing can be used to accelerate solving computational chemistry problems. Last year, we were invited to join the Center for Quantum Dynamics on Modular Quantum Devices and, as part of the group, we developed workshops on quantum mechanics and quantum computing that we facilitated for high school students.
Lastly, I was involved organizing the Quantum Unlocked event at Lafayette College, which was selected as part of the IBM Qiskit Fall Fest 2024.
