MAYA JOANNA PHILLIPS

Santa Barbara,CA

Summary

I am an aspiring screenwriter and filmmaker with real experience in pre/post-production, script supervision, and production assistance on the international feature film LALKA and various short films as a producer and art department head and director and writer of Sides of Lidia. I have been recognized for team leadership and a proactive approach by my previous director of photography and other crew members on film sets. My film passion started as an avid writer during my teenage years, which then led to screenwriting, and that led to filmmaking and more to come! I completed a screenwriting certificate at Santa Barbara City College, with award-winning student writing for Student Voices magazine. Passionate about crafting compelling narratives and contributing to all stages of collaborative film and video productions. Outside of film, I am constantly looking to explore creativity through writing techniques, various forms of art, including ceramics, visualization, or even creating detailed mood boards for my screenplays. My current goals are to become excellent in color correction using DaVinci Resolve and a longer term goal through out my creative career is to help make features and documentaries that inspire and trigger strong feelings in audiences.
