Here at WCGA I am improving my skills as a pet stylist with discounted student grooming. I am doing everything on my own such as bathing, prep work, cleaning my station, checking in and out clients and most importantly, practicing on my haircuts. I work on many different breeds of both dogs and cats and have since then done many haircuts on my own. I have prior experience working in the grooming industry, but I have been interning at WCGA to enhance my skills as a stylist specifically.

Daily duties included

• Opening up shop and prepping the salon for the day.

•checking in and out clients with a lengthy, detailed check in.

•Maintaining a safe and Sanitary environment by following protocol and disinfecting tools/surfaces.

•Assisted in scheduling to optimize client flow and efficiency.

•communicated effectively with pet parents through out the whole appointment to ensure there isn’t any confusion at check out.

•performing all bathing services for both cats and dogs including bathing, anal gland expressions, blow dry, deshedding, brush out, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, nail trim/file, paw pad shaving, tidy up trims, sanitary trim, and sometimes assisting with shave downs.

•counting up and adding all transactions at the end of the day.

•working the pos system and charging clients.

•assisting other groomers with whatever they need help with.
