GMSA is part of the International Federation of Medical Student Association (IFMSA), which helps improve medical students’ training and experience. Examples of projects we conducted were:

Led a group of 20 students :
• Conducted an extensive survey in a rural community to assess the potential health issues. The survey concluded that schistosomiasis was the major health issue in the community we went to.
• Performed a cross-sectional study to estimate the number of schistosomiasis cases within the community.
• Organized a medical campaign that provided diagnosis and treatment of the cases of schistosomiasis and other health conditions, with the assistance of local doctors.
• Provided educational sessions on the importance of regular medical care and lifestyle changes to prevent complications of chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension.
I volunteered at Hayat Charity Association, which focuses on providing care and support to orphanages.
• took the lead in organizing a clothing donation drive for orphanages.
• Arranged fundraising events to support orphanage families.
• Organized team’s weekly tasks and delegated duties to each member according to their strengths.
Spark is an organization that teaches junior medical students how to provide basic life support in a 3-day course every month.- My responsibilities at Spark included:
• Preparing sessions and teaching junior medical students how to measure blood pressure and instructing them on different drug administration routes, including how to give IV, IM, and SC injections, as well as CPR training.
• Guiding other training team members on how to present their sessions and better interact with learners.
• Preparing test questions for the learners in collaboration with the university's Education Development Centre (EDC), as they had to pass an assessment exam to receive a Basic Skills and Life Support certificate from the EDC with the medical school Dean's signature.
