
I am currently an APP hospitalist with a robust background in hospital medicine, evidenced by work at the University of New Mexico Hospital and VCU health, with experiencing managing complex patient panels with minimal oversight. In addition to years of hospitalist work, I also have experience managing inpatient medical oncology patients. I have strong professional interests in solid tumor oncology - both in clinical practice as well as research.
• Responsible for managing the care for admitted patients to the medicine floor as well as management of inpatient medical oncology patients
• Responsible for daily rounding, ordering and interpreting labs/imaging, diagnosing, prescribing medications, as well as consulting with other teams in the hospital
• Typical panel of 8 patients, working closely with the attending physician

• Act as a preceptor for PA and NP students, as well as a mentor for new on-boarding hospitalist APPs
• Responsible for managing a patient panel of 12-14 with minimal physician oversight (including rounding, ordering/interpreting imaging and labs, prescribing, and working closely with other teams in the hospital)
• Structured learning environment to become a competent and independent provider for hospitalized adult patients
• Experience working with therapies, wound care, antimicrobial/antithrombosis pharmacy, and podiatry
• Experience with hospital admissions
• Experience with cross cover
• Specialty rotations in cardiology, nephrology, oncology, infectious disease, palliative care, and neurology/stroke
• Didactic curriculum included clinical reasoning, art-in-medicine, work like balance sessions, and presentations over various hospital medicine topics
• Simulation sessions included: lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis, ACLS scenarios, and POCUS
• Responsible for caring for patients in the post-acute care setting after discharge from the hospital and in the long-term care setting
• Experience managing acute clinical problems, chronic diseases, and preventative care
• Experience with day and nighttime call duties
