With a strong foundation in political affairs and economic markets, I bring a diverse background shaped by hands-on experience in both government and finance. Growing up in Washington, D.C. fostered a deep understanding of public policy and political operations, which I further developed through internships on Capitol Hill, with a political strategy firm, and on a successful state legislative campaign. These roles sharpened my communication, policy analysis, and advocacy skills. Complementing this, my internship with the Allenberg Cotton division of Louis Dreyfus Company exposed me to the futures market, where I supported hedging strategies to manage commodity price risk. This experience provided me with valuable insight into how global markets operate and deepened my understanding of financial risk management in a real-world trading environment.
As a Finance & Risk Intern at Louis Dreyfus Company—a global merchant and processor of agricultural commodities—I worked within the Allenberg Cotton division, as a trading intern supporting the team in managing price volatility in the cotton market through futures hedging strategies. My responsibilities included preparing daily P&L reports, trade summaries, and risk exposure reports to assist in trading decisions. I collaborated with traders and risk analysts to monitor market trends and evaluate hedge performance, gaining extensive knowledge of the futures market and practical experience in commodity risk management.
As a political Affairs Intern, I supported the Axis Strategies firm during the Texas legislative session, gaining hands-on experience in state-level government relations and policy advocacy. I attended meetings with state representatives, observing firsthand how policy is shaped and negotiated. I drafted detailed briefings on relevant hearings to help inform the firm’s strategy on key legislative issues and managed Capitol-related tasks and document deliveries to ensure timely support for our advocacy efforts.
I contributed to the successful state representative campaign of John McQueeney by actively engaging in grassroots voter outreach and mobilization efforts. As part of the field team, I canvassed neighborhoods across the district—knocking on doors, speaking directly with voters, and clearly communicating the candidate’s platform and policy priorities. I worked to increase voter turnout through personalized outreach and community engagement, helping build strong local support that contributed to a winning campaign.
During my Congressional Internship, I served in Congressman Austin Scott’s Washington, D.C. office, where I supported both legislative and constituent services. My responsibilities included answering and documenting constituent calls, relaying their concerns to the Congressman, and assisting with casework to help resolve issues related to federal agencies. I attended congressional hearings and briefings, preparing concise reports to inform staff on key policy developments. Additionally, I conducted Capitol tours for constituents and visiting business leaders, and provided general office support through errands and administrative tasks
As a Camp Counselor at Hooped, for children aged 6 to 13, I spent two consecutive summers in high school leading activities that promoted both athletic skills and social development. I organized and supervised a variety of sports and games, encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence among campers. In addition to facilitating physical activity, I helped foster a positive and inclusive environment where children could build friendships and develop interpersonal skills.
