The Gem Studio is a very unique business; we teach silversmithing workshops. We teach how to silversmith and give a very one-of-a-kind experience. I have been with the company since their very start. I worked up to the highest opportunity available within the company, which was being the manager of their most profitable studio. The studio I manage brings in about 2.2 million dollars of revenue a year. Out of the company's 9 locations, my location brings in the most revenue and business.
In this role, I am responsible for keeping the whole studio running smoothly, scheduling over 30 employees, conducting a very detailed inventory weekly, training all new hires, managing commissions, payroll, and timecards. Conducting monthly team meetings, team bonding activities, and most importantly, maintaining a happy and enjoyable work environment for my whole team.
As a silversmith, I am skilled in creating one-of-a-kind, flawless sterling silver pieces of jewelry. I not only create a piece, but also teach customers how to do so in a 3-hour window and give them an amazing experience. This role requires an insane amount of people skill, time management, mastering the art of silversmithing and entertaining a guest to the best of my capability.
