Driven Clinical Nurse Manager with extensive experience in high-acuity environments. Skilled in leading quality initiatives, ensuring patient safety, and supporting multidisciplinary care teams. Committed to leveraging leadership and clinical expertise to enhance healthcare outcomes.
During my time at U of L I have been able to provide care across multiple specialty units in a high acuity environment. I filled the charge role in the absence of core staff. Participated in implementation of new staffing model, contributing to daily operations, policy development, and quality initiatives. I have also been a preceptServed as preceptor on mixed acuity floors, mentoring nursing students and supervising multiple CapStone students during rotations.
During my time as Clinical Manager at Wedgewood I was responsible for the daily operations of the rehab unit including: staffing, admissions, discharges, patient safety, quality oversight, collaboration with providers for patient care, and I helped arrange patient transportation to and from appointments. In addition to my manager duties, I was responsible for the wound care program, rounding with the wound Nurse Practitioner twice a week, and overseeing all treatments of all the residents. I led the initiative for reducing the transmission of COVID and infection prevention for the facility.
During my time at Interim I was able to help establish the office for patients. Due to Interim being a new office in a new location I was a driving force behind building the office case load and the office ability to take on new patients. At any given time I would have a case load of 15-25 patients that I was responsible for. My duties for my patients included coordinating interdisciplinary care, admissions, discharges, chronic disease management, medication management, wound care treatments, collaborating between primary care offices and patients, ensuring a streamlined transition between inpatient and outpatient care for my patients.
I developed nursing skill sets through hands-on experience and advanced from new graduate RN to Charge Nurse. I also advanced from a new graduate RN, to relief charge, to a Charge Nurse. I held the positions of President of the ENA and first chair of Shared Governance. I maintained ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications while supporting staff development and enhancing clinical excellence. development and clinical excellence.
