Leading 7 member team in NSF-funded project “EAGER: Towards a multimodal smart textile medical monitoring system for Neonatal ICUs”.

  • Developed flexible, multi-layered stretch and pressure sensors to measure respiration and range of motion.
  • Created a 6-layer bioinstrumentation system to monitor respiration, EKG, HR, oxygen, temperature, motion (IMU), and integrated wireless protocols.
  • Successfully led the preparation and submission of a full IRB application package.

Wearable Device Designer

  • Developed an elbow-belt for tracking elbow range of motion; conducted a 20-participant study on healthy adults.
  • Integrated a 3-channel respiration sensor into a chest belt to explore stress detection potential.

Project Co-Lead CareWear

  • Co-led a feasibility study to evaluate stress using smart wearable technology.
  • Conducted a study with 30 healthy adult participants using a smart watch and custom-designed chest belt.
  • Developed the chest belt and data analysis protocol to support stress detection.
