Besides my political interest, I have been an anti-money laundering analyst/director for more than 17 years. Worked for top banks in the world, i.e., SMBC Group, HSBC USA NA, UBS New York, Citigroup N.A., Deutch Bank USA, and MoneyGram, among others.
I actively engaged with human rights organizations, the State Department, Congress, and the U.S. President's office to address and advocate for democracy and human rights issues in Bangladesh. My efforts focused on raising awareness, influencing policy, and seeking international support for meaningful reforms.
As a University Student Senator for the City University of New York (CUNY), I represented and advocated for the needs of 140,000 students. My role involved collaborating with university officials to address student issues, championing campus-wide initiatives, and ensuring that student voices were effectively heard in university decision-making processes.
As Vice President of the Student Government Association at LaGuardia Community College, I led and represented a diverse student body of 16,000. My role involved collaborating with the executive team to develop and implement programs, addressing student concerns, and representing the student body in discussions with college administration.
As the Political Coordinator in the Student Government, I was responsible for organizing and leading political advocacy efforts on campus. This included mobilizing student support for key issues, coordinating with external political groups, and ensuring that student concerns were effectively communicated to administration and policymakers. My role involved strategic planning, organizing events, and fostering engagement in political discourse to drive meaningful change within the student community.
