Affiliations

  • The Paisano - Independent Student Publication for the UTSA Community: I participate in my university's school newspaper. I write articles about News, Arts & Life around San Antonio, and reviews of music through my passion for writing. To add on, I would practice with photojournalism and would take photos for others articles of places, events, or festivals.
  • Photography - In my time at The University of Texas at San Antonio, I began discovering my passion for photography, participating in school photography, personal photoshoots - studio and outside, - and photojournalism. I work with a professional photographer in Austin as his assistant and on top of taking photos of models myself, I help with lighting, studio set-up, and photo editing. In San Antonio, I photograph for my schools newspaper, school magazine, and work as a partial assistant for another students personal magazine.
  • Zine Club - A magazine club for my university. I participate in with photography and editing. This club has given me basic proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Lightroom.
  • VOICES - A community service based club for my university. I have accumulated around 12 service hours for the first semester, participating in clothing and supply drives, making scrunchies for women in need of supplies and homeless shelters, and pantry restocks.
  • Cycling Club - A club for my university I had joined based on road cycling. We would have meets every week that would range from 1-3 hours. This was a way for me to gain a community and get in excessive at the same time.
  • Girl Scouts of Central Texas - I graduated high school being a Girl Scout, starting from a young age. I completed a number of different service awards and participated in community service events for the community of scouts, as well as for women overall. For the four years of high school I participated in, I was the top cookie seller of my troop annually, averaging 600+ a season. I graduated girl scouts in May of 2024.
  • National Honors Society - In grades 11-12 of high school I was in the National Honors Society, a club and organization where I completed over 30 community service hours. For this club, it was essential to keep your grades up year round, participate in community service events, and have a weighted 3.5 GPA average to stay a participant. I finished high school with these requirements met and earned a medal for my efforts at graduation.
  • Ice Hockey - In years 9-10 of high school, I played as a team member on the Chaparral Ice hockey team and would have weekly practices and games. I put in roughly 10 hours of practice weekly.
  • Girls Basketball Team - I played on my high schools girls basketball team for my first year of high school during COVID-19. Because of the epidemic, we would practice and play competitively wearing masks. We won 6 of our games, of which I mainly was utilized for defense and would practice weekly, putting in 15 hours of my time weekly.
  • Summitt Elementary Scholastic Book Fair Volunteer - In my Junior year of high school, I participated in the scholastic book fair for the elementary school I went to, Summitt Elementary, accumulating 4 hours of service work. I helped read books to the elementary students and cleaned up the book fair when it was done.
  • Volunteer for Operation Turkey - In my junior and Senior year of high school, I participated in Operation Turkey on Thanksgiving. This is a community service event where I packed boxes of dinners for the homeless to be delivered to shelters for those who didn't have the resources to celebrate the holiday. I did this on Thanksgiving for the years 2022 and 2023.
