Provide in-classroom behavioral support, coaching, training and strategies for meeting the needs of students
Address behavior by providing behavioral interventions and problem solving strategies
Work directly with students to teach social, emotional and behavioral skills that may include small group or1:1 support to students struggling with behavior regulation
Intervene/Respond in crisis situations and implement de-escalation strategies
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff, parents, and administrators
Train and support teachers and staff in classroom management and behavior strategies, while providing direct modeling as needed
Collaborate with parents and guardians to reinforce positive behavior at home
Work alongside school psychologists, social workers and special education teams to support students with IEPs and 504 plans
Track student behavioral data and evaluate intervention effectiveness
Maintain accurate records and report progress to teachers, administrators and families
Consult with building teams to develop behavior intervention strategies, while providing direct modeling as needed
Maintain documentation, collection and analysis of data for behavior interventions and services provided
Facilitate behavior review meetings
Determine appropriate behavior treatment plans through documented evaluations and consultations, progress monitor and adjust plans as needed
Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement classroom based activities and behavior strategies/interventions
Meet the needs of all students effectively by working in partnership with other disciplines
Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and school policies
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of research, theories, and practices associated with therapy in the school-based setting
Conduct training sessions for staff on behavior management, trauma informed care and social-emotional learning
Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance
