Overnight, weekend CT Tech for busy 40 bed ER and community hospital
Maintained a great relationship with the ER and hospital team while performing CT scans for patient diagnoses
As within my scope, checked CT orders for appropriateness for reason for exam and communicated with ordering physicians and sometimes radiologists if there were discrepancies or questions
Prioritized the safety of my patients, carefully checking bloodwork and allergies prior to scans with contrast and obtaining consent from the appropriate person
Cared for patients in all states and with varying levels of ability to cooperate, using safety belts and immobilizing equipment as needed
Performed STAT and urgent exams, sometimes with no notice before the patient being rolled into the room and worked under this pressure with a good attitude and happy to be part of a team helping patients in some of their most frightening moments
Samaritan hospital was not famous for being a lovely place to be a patient and many patients told me I was very kind to them and they appreciated my care- from listening to their history with compassion to getting them blankets and caring for their physical comfort while they were with me
Working alone overnight I developed a strong sense of responsibility in my role as a CT Tech. Every decision, every double check, every part of the process was my own to be accountable for and I did that job without incident for over four years and I am proud of how I took care of patients there.
Maintained a clean and stocked scan room
