  • Coordinate activities and monitoring of student welfare with the Upper School Counselor and Director of Upper School Student Life, and other members of the Upper School Leadership Team, faculty and staff as needed.
  • Leading Class Meetings and Activities: Lead periodic class meetings throughout the year. Some are focused on annual events such as Field Trip Day or School Council elections.

  • Cultivating Trust and Rapport - Seek out opportunities, both formal and informal, to develop rapport with the students and their parents/guardians in their assigned class.
  • Monitoring Academic Progress and Social/Emotional Welfare: Read all Learner Profiles/Accommodation Plans in the grade in order to gain insights into these students as learners and to coordinate support with the school’s Learning Specialist. Coordinate with the Registrar to review the Drop/Add lists each semester, monitoring student shifts and looking for trends, as well as suggesting Peer Tutoring as needed. Review comments and grades for all students in the class at each grading juncture, so that they can help to identify patterns that may need to be addressed.
