I grew up in the PNW and spent my childhood in a very active outdoor setting. Tons of downhill and cross-country skiing, fishing and camping with my large family, lots of bike rides, endless hiking over the state and into Washington, swimming all year in summer lakes and local pools, as well as backpacking trips. My father was an artist and photographer, and encouraged me to develop crafts and get a keen eye for a great shot. I don't do anything professional, however. Gardening is a huge favorite pastime of mine, as well. I wrote a book many years ago, young adult 95,000 words. But trashed it after a few years due to various life changing events that required focused time on that instead of writing. Yoga and meditation is just a part of my routine, where I sometimes seriously slack off on maintaining that regime. I've also spent a good deal of time volunteering at various animal shelters throughout my life.
