My position at AGH is to provide home based specialized care to each of my clients based upon their individualized needs. The levels of care range between a Specialized Support Care Giver Level 1 through 3. My primary client is a Specialized Support Level 3. I also have clients who are levels 1 and 2. A level 3 Support usually requires complete physical care for an individual who is not able to care for themselves. For example hoyering and transferring the individual from a hospital style bed to a Specialized chair and helping them to eat, get washed up and dressed and toileted etc. A level 2 would be helping with transfers to a walker or wheelchair and to the bathroom. Helping with transportation for appointments and shopping. Helping with chores around the home. A level 1 is mostly helping with transportation and home making! I have enjoyed working 1 on 1 with clients at Age At Home!

I worked with many children at Barnstead Elementary school. Before I became a Substitute, I volunteered in my younger son's Kindergarten classroom a couple of blocks per week helping with writing and math skills. I really enjoyed helping, so I applied to be a fill in Substitute Teacher. This position allowed me to work with many students with different individual needs as a paraprofessional ranging between Kindergarten and Third grade. I also filled in as the Secondary Teacher and Primary Teacher in Preschool, Kindergarten and first grade. For a period of time I worked in the Library of the school helping out the Librarian and filling in as the Librarian. It was a wonderful experience!
