Summer Camp Counsellor

  • From June 2025-September 2025 I worked as a general counsellor in Wisconsin, America. Here I looked after up to 15 campers (aged 7-16) at a time for overnight camp and day camps. I also spent two weeks working as 1-1 for campers who needed extra support.
  • Over the summer I planned, prepared and lead activities for boating, swimming, high ropes, land sports and more.
  • At camp we also supported our junior counsellor Programme where we would mentor, assist and give feedback to help develop them.
  • For 2026 summer I have taken over the role of admiral or boating specialist, this role entails leading the programming down in the boating area, supervising lifeguards, taking care of the boats, and helping out the swimming area on occasion. We ensure that every camper or youth leader has applied sunscreen, wears a life jacket that fits them, and understand the rules of the boating area, before they are put in the water.

  • I started this role in 2021 as a crew member where I advised customers on menu items, took orders and processed payments. Adapted to busy periods by working efficiently under pressure, maintaining composure and quality. Worked hard to learn all required tasks quickly to maximise performance.
  • After six months in this role I was promoted to crew trainer where I was in charge of training and mentoring new crew members ensuring they settled well into the company and learned everything they needed to know. During this stage i also took on more responsibility in area leading making sure that everything was running smoothly.
  • April 2022 I was promoted to shift leader where I managed complaints with calm, clear communication and problem-solving. Achieved service time and quality targets. Engaged with customers to better understand needs and deliver excellent service. Identified issues, analysed information and provided solutions to problems.
  • Reviewed training log weekly to verify completion of all required tasks.
