• Assisting surgeons in orthopedic surgery including, total joint replacements, trauma cases, sports surgery.
• Responsibilities in orthopedics include: assisting staff with surgical preparation, safely positioning patient, prepping and draping operative extremity, drawing incisional line, providing exposure, drilling, closing wounds, preparing graft.
• Splint application and cast removal
• Experience with closing retinaculum and fascial layers, experienced with various forms of closure techniques.
• Assisted general and gyn surgeons in laparoscopic cases and open laparotomies, including Caesarean sections.
• Developed a periop 101 training program and successfully trained 5 cohorts of nurses with no surgical experience to be successful, strong nurses in the operating room
• Providing relief to scrub and circulating nurses when not needed to assist
• Played an integral role in emergency situations, remaining calm under pressure while rapidly responding to the needs of both surgeons and patients

• Functioned as a circulator and scrub nurse in orthopedics, podiatry, urology, general, OB/GYN, bariatrics
