-Full-time GI Lab Charge Nurse

-Department staffing; build work schedules and staff assignments, taking workload, space and equipment availability into consideration.

-Monitor scheduled cases to anticipate department needs and to prevent or correct conflicts or scheduling errors.

-Train and mentor new GI RNs on endoscopy procedures, best practices, hospital policies and standards of care.

-Participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve processes and/ or develop new GI services and identify any limitations.

• Performed full range of nursing duties in areas of pre-op, conscious sedation, PACU, and education of patients having endoscopic procedures.
• Served as Infection Preventionist; performed facility specific Infection Control Risk Assessment and developed Infection Control Plan.
• Enforced medical office compliance with OSHA, HIPPA, and CLIA regulations.
• Annual and new hire training on unit specific OSHA and Infection Prevention practices.
