As a adoption and resource consultant I help in providing information to anyone who walks through our doors! I greet them and I make sure to assist them in what it may be they need help with. Alongside with providing information I also do other tasks. In a sense you could say that I multitask. I bring out animals to meet and greet with, I print out record papers for people or when we need them, I make sure everyone has been attended to. I have had situations where I have felt unseen when it comes to customer service, and I've made sure to make it a personal value of mine to make sure who I am interacting with feels prioritized and seen to. Even when it's more than one party/person being taken care of, I make it possible that everyone feels like they are my priority when they are here. I love to be able to help out in any way I can, I love to be able to say that I am bilingual. It has proven to be very useful at this workplace, I have done a lot of translating here as I am the only team member who can speak it fluently. Having also grown up doing a lot of translating work for both my parents, I feel very fulfilled in a position where I can do that for others. I treat others with kindness and practice understanding and empathy always, I am patient person with any situation that might come up. At my job we deal with a lot of emotional situations, I make sure to navigate carefully and to be open. I deal with different applications when it comes to digital work done here, I look through documents and write down information as well as deal with emails and phone calls. I have received phone call training at this job, and have practiced and know proper phone etiquette. At the end of day we have our accounting analysis printed out, so I am also looking over numbers and making sure everything looks orderly and correct.
This position was physical labor heavy. I was on the move always and my hands were also always occupied. While volunteering, I worked on my social skills even more in different ways...I expanded my skills and applied them to a completely new setting and situations. I would communicate with my group about how to best tackle a busy and chaotic day at the shelter. Team works works out best for everyone, always!
A this job I've handled currency, and gave out change checked for counterfeits and quickly/efficiently. I greeted customers and made sure it is a good experience for them, and that they are satisfied with the service my team members and I have provided. I kept my time to a standard as it's a place of fast food, in other words I've made sure to provide fast service but quality service as well! I balanced multiple tasks at once, and practiced always my communication skills as it is always important to do. As well as communicating well I am also a good listener. Dealing with a variety of customers, being bilingual served very useful. I made sure all our customers felt understood, and helped out in any way I could. I always hoped and made sure to the best of my ability that our customers left feeling understood, good, and satisfied.
At this job I did closing shifts, with closing shifts I learned a lot about time management. With this being my second job and it being a new setting and a slight adjustment from my previous one, I learned how to be an effective communicator with an array of people who I worked with and customers who walked through the door. Very big emphasis on people skills! My job was to go above and beyond. I greeted people who came in and made sure to tend to waiting customers...I made sure their visits were good ones and that they left feeling good. And that they'd return. Good people service means a lot, and goes a long way. I worked with food handling and drink preparation. As well as phone calls, I took down orders through phone...took in complaints or general questions... I also handled cash as a cashier. I worked with mobile app technology and our other technologies which were present at work. And I translated for Spanish speaking customers
