Started a family practice clinic in Savannah, Tn that I got certified in 2015 as a rural health clinic. Have owned and operated it for the last seventeen years mostly as a solo practitioner, governing all aspects of employment and patient care.
Started a satellite clinic in my hometown from the original location in Savannah, Tn. This clinic was also certified as a rural health clinic. I worked part time there, and employed a full time nurse practitioner. I eventually sold this practice to her.
I began my FNP career working for Dr. Lay just out of my Master’s degree program. He was a longstanding and well respected family physician in Savannah for the prior fifty years. I worked side by side with him in the clinic for three years until he decided to retire.
I worked in several different setting as an RN over a ten year period including: home health, hospice, skilled nursing home, med-surg, OB, ER and ICU.
I started off obtaining my associate’s degree, then my bachelor’s and finally my master’s all while working mostly full time.
