Patient Care Support Activities:

Assists with the admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
Answer the patient call lights.
Schedules tests and treatments as ordered.
I provide access control to the visitor entrance to secure units.
I am required to take medications from the delivery system to the RN, and/or ensure patient medications are put in their correct medication bin.

Clerical Activities:

Answers unit telephones, and disseminates information appropriately.
Processes, organizes, files, and maintains patient and unit records.
Transcribes physician orders.
I organize, stock, and maintain supplies on the unit(s).

Collaboration:

I perform functions delegated by the nursing manager and the charge nurse.
I demonstrate effective teamwork, prioritization, communication, and organization.
I provide excellent customer service when responding to patient and family requests, physicians, nursing, and other ancillary services.
