Work History

Teller Service Representative

Wells Fargo
03.2022 - 08.2023
  • Answered customer inquiries regarding account balances, transaction history, services charges, and interest rates.
  • Processed customer transactions promptly, minimizing wait times.
  • Served as primary point of contact for customers, providing assistance with account maintenance and transactions.
  • Maintained in-depth knowledge of bank products and services to provide appropriate recommendations to customers.
  • With the beauty industry adapting to the COVID crisis and the dynamics of the industry trying to bounce back, I decided to go back to my relationship with Wells Fargo and understand the "business" aspect from a different angle. Learned a lot of valuable tools and kept myself educated on current laws, strategies, and current banking events. Unfortunately most banks are currently laying off teller/banker positions. People are being replaced with AI technology. That was the case for me but what I learned was crucial to my growth.

Cosmetology Educator Training Program

Gene Juarez Academy
09.2021 - 01.2022
  • Led students through lessons both in practical, interactive student salon modules and lecture-style theoretical sessions, supporting institutional plans and preparing for certification exams.
  • Mentored and supported students, encouraging individual progress in both theoretical and practical learning modules and preparing for productive industry careers.
  • Kept implements and equipment in working order, maintaining cleanliness and health of work area and salon.
  • Met regularly with team of teachers to discuss best practices and develop innovative teaching strategies.
  • Connected instruction to real-world experiences and to students' post-secondary goals.
  • After COVID, there was the delayed reaction of what the world endured. Seattle based[and surrounding area]schools closed, multiple salons closed, and senior positions were first priority. I wanted to learn from an elite school and I got through half the program before changes were made. What I learned was invaluable and I appreciated the experience.

Cosmetology Educator

Summit Salon Academy
09.2019 - 08.2021
  • Prepared students for WA cosmetology exam with 98% success. Other 2% had " testing phobias" and were able to retake exam with successful results
  • Followed WA curriculum accurately with detailed lesson plans.
  • Planned both theory and practical lessons for multiple leveled students.
  • Observed and evaluated students' work to determine progress, provide feedback, and make suggestions for improvement.
  • Presented lectures and conducted discussions to increase students' knowledge and competence using visual aids such as graphs, charts and slides.
  • Established goals for courses with organized outlines and detailed lessons.
  • Collaborated with colleagues and improved teaching practices through professional learning communities and student retention meetings.
  • Led students through lessons both in practical, interactive student salon modules and lecture-style theoretical sessions, supporting institutional plans and preparing for certification exams.
  • Mentored and supported students, encouraging individual progress in both theoretical and practical learning modules and preparing for productive industry careers.
  • Motivated students to overcome hesitation, demonstrating sensitivity and supporting personal growth through targeted exercises and lessons.
  • Pivoted IMMEDIATELY at an unprecedented time [COVID] and taught via ZOOM all theory and appropriate practical needs. Kept students driven, engaged, positive, and within WA State boundaries of what needed to be fulfilled to meet students overall goal of graduation. I felt it was time to elevate my experience and take my expertise to the next level. Promised myself to always be proactive.

Hair Salon Owner/Licensed Hairstylist

CUTT CO
10.1994 - 01.2019

My personal goals were clear from day one, remain proactive!I worked as a salary stylist, earned the position of renting and running my own business within that entity, and accomplished ownership of CUTT CO the last 10 years I was in CA. Helping to oversee the business as it transferred to new owners the first 6 months...resulting in a successful change in ownership.

  • Oversaw end-to-end business processes to maintain proficiency and profitability.
  • Consulted with customers to assess needs and propose optimal solutions.
  • Trained and motivated employees to perform daily business functions.
  • Served as primary point-of-contact with suppliers and contractors to achieve goals.
  • Put together realistic budgets based upon costs and fees for successfully operating business.
  • Kept all building areas and equipment functional and well-organized to promote business performance.
  • Developed and implemented marketing strategies to generate new customers and increase sales and profit margins.
  • Adhered to regulatory and policy changes and made necessary adjustments to maintain overall success.
  • Organized and attended trade shows, community events, training and in salon education, and special events to showcase products, network with other businesses and attract new customers.
  • Initiated workplace improvement programs for increased service efficiency.
  • Delegated workplace responsibility to appropriate staff.
  • Mentored, personalized council, training, and made myself approachable for the needs of my staff and any business entity.
  • After deciding to move to WA, selling my salon, mentored the new owners, and acclimated to WA with my family...I did research to mature in my love for the beauty industry.
