A daisy award is given when a Nurse goes above and beyond with their patients. The patient  nominates the RN to receive a daisy award. Once nominated it is reviewed and chosen or denied for the award. Mine was in a case where the patient was in extreme pain and discomfort. I made sure that that the patient was taken care of and was finally an increase level of comfort was achieved after extensive communications with the Physician.
