  • Responsible for maintaining water chemistry for entire power plant from the time it enters the site, until it exits. Tests included pH monitoring and adjustment, clarification with coagulants and/or softeners, low and high pressure boiler chemistry, production of ultra-pure water with little-to-no conductivity, and reporting all results to EPA prior to any plant discharge.
  • Provided feedback to engineering, as to how well chemicals are working to enhance plant performance and able to ensure that all sample points and chemical injections points are in the best possible locations.

  • Worked with engineering to identify which areas would be most prone to chemical corrosion and how to prevent metallic stress on the system due to chemicals in a high heat/high pressure environment.
  • Proactively manage equilibrium state chemistry during balance of plant operation, including the ramp up to full power and back down.
  • Work closely with engineers and EPA to mitigate and minimize any impact on unforeseen future events and implement practical solutions in the field that were not anticipated by engineering team.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings, Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), as well as, electrical drawings. Responsible for scoping systems, using piping, electrical, and instrumentation drawings, which were then turned into individual systems for client turnover.
