Melissa Kozee

• Rehearse every other day with a full middle level choir, consisting of 70-85 seventh and eighth grade students of varying academic levels.
• Run a full schedule of small group vocal lessons each week, which includes all students enrolled in chorus.
• Prepare chorus students for 2-3 concert performances each year.
• Musically program 2-3 concerts each school year, using a wide variety of vocal music. Studied music selections range in style from jazz, classical, latin, and world music, to Broadway, contemporary, pop and rock.
• Teach multiple sections of General Music for 7th grade..
• Prepare approximately 15-20 NYSSMA vocalists each year with their selections, and accompany each student.
• Create safe spaces and opportunities at the school for students to perform and showcase their talents/solos.
• Prepare selected students for All County chorus
• Directed three junior musicals, including "Fiddler on the Roof Jr.," "High School Musical Jr". "Annie Jr."
• Accompany the Oyster Bay High School Chorus and OBHS Chamber Singers when needed.
• Acted as rehearsal pianist and accompanist for multiple OBHS high school productions including "Little Shop of Horrors," "Into the Woods," "Grease."
• Accompanied and chaperoned the OBHS Chamber Singers twice, for "Music in the Parks" festivals.

-Full time General Music Teacher grades 6-8

-Created the general music curriculum and lessons for all grades

-Musically directed and and accompanied four high school musicals including: Seussical, Little Shop of Horrors, Les Mis, Into the Woods, The Wiz.

-Accompanied the Middle School Chorus.

-Headed the 6th grade Homework Club.

- Involved with NYSSMA and SCMEA.
