Dynamic Certified Surgical Technologist with nearly 25 years of experience at Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital, recognized for optimizing room turnover efficiency. Adept in maintaining high infection control standards and demonstrating flexibility in high-pressure situations. Committed to mentoring peers and enhancing surgical outcomes through attention to detail and effective teamwork.
During the past almost 25 years I have participated in cataract procedures, obstetrics, GYN, spine, general, urology, ENT, vascular, plastics, orthopedics, pain management, and endoscopy. I was the break/lunch person for the first 10 years, so adapting to many situations and coworkers set up preferences was a must.
I'm retiring May 18th for a time out. Then I'm hoping to return part time to Medina toward the end of August. I would truly enjoy working PRN for your institution. I live in Medina and enjoy my community very much. I am no longer married, by the way, therefore not following anyone else around for their occupation. Living for myself.
I lived in Wisconsin for three years when my husband was transferred for his occupation. St. Agnes was a great community hospital that had the same work ethic I was taught when I trained at St. Joseph Hospital. I left this institution to return home to Ohio.
I transferred to Cuyahoga Falls due to the safety of Warrensville, Ohio. I didn't stay long because my husband was transferred due to his occupation. I was learning spine and participated in the usual community hospital procedures. General, GYN, Opthalmology, Orthopedics, Vascular, Podiatry and some Spine.
I learned so much from this position. Starting with being employed by Suburban Hospital, merging with the Meridia Health Systems, then having the D.O. Brentwood Hospital, which was literally separated by a creek, merge with the M.D. Meridia South Pointe Hospital. I witnessed the meshing of D.O. residents being taught by M.D. doctors. The whole restructuring of departments and services. Then as I was leaving the Meridia System when it merged with Cleveland Clinic. I participated in the same community hospital services. Vascular, General, Urology, GYN, Plastics, ENT, Opthalmology, Pain management with implants.
This is where I cut my teeth. I was taught by women and men who were taught by Nuns. I was 18 when I started as a student. They shaped and molded me into the surgical technologist that I am today. I was hired after my first year of clinicals to be a student extern for the summer. I was kept on during my 2nd year of clinicals and hired full time upon graduation. I left here to get married and followed my husband to the Cleveland area.
