I recently completed an accounting information System course designed to help students develop skills and knowledge in the following areas:
- Define the nature of data and information.
- Formulate of the primary mechanism of an Accounting Information System.
- Design an AIS using relational database techniques and the REA data model.
- Extract useful information from an AIS and communicate with stakeholders.
- Apply the essential technical skills using data analysis (including data visualization) to transform raw data into useful information.
- Apply accounting software packages (MS ACCESS, MS Power BI, and MS Azure) and Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
I assisted with coordinating meetings, delegating tasks, setting deadlines, and compiling the information for the final group project which consisted of designing an REA data model (Conceptual model) for project case. Our group received a A+.
