  • It was also important for me to be able breakdown the concepts being taught in such a way that students with special needs can gain the same understanding
  • Included within my duties was the completing and filing of all documentation concerning student progress
  • I was also responsible for contacting parents concerning any problems with understanding the content being taught or with behavior in the classroom
  • While teaching at Trinity Basin Preparatory I was able to bring about a 70% increase in success on the state mandated test.

  • High, while teaching regular 8th grade math and Pre AP-Algebra 1, I had an array of job duties
  • One of the groups of students that I had the chance to work with were those that were anywhere from one to two grades behind in math
  • This class of students stayed in math for two class periods in a hope to get them caught up, and able to get them to pass their state mandated tests allowing the graduate to the ninth grade
  • One of these groups was made up of 15 students who had never passed a state mandated test
  • At the end of the year 13 of the 15 not only passed the state test, but 10 of the 13 passed with grades high enough that they didn't have to go to summer school for the first time since the 4th or 5th grade
  • During my tenure, my classes experienced a 65% increase in the pass rate on the state mandated test.

  • While working there I was responsible for opening during the week and preparing breakfast and lunch menu items
  • During the morning rush hour, it was important to memorize customers drink orders to be able to serve customers quickly and efficiently
  • During the lunch rush if was important to work together as a team to meet the needs of the customers.

  • Politely assisted customer to aide them with all problems or questions that they had about concerning the company that they were calling about
  • Aegis served multiple clients, in various industries, so consequently I was responsible for understanding and being an expert in each of these different types of industries
  • I could be taking calls one day for a major pharmacy and the next day for a major retailer
  • I was asked to take jobs from these different types of clients due to my expertise with each client
  • I was even asked to be a Supervisor, however I turned it down because it would have taken away from my college studies.

MATH TUTOR

  • Created study materials for student who were struggling with basic mathematical concepts
  • Worked one-on-one with students; helping them to gain a better understanding of difficult concepts
  • Worked with small tutoring groups, formed from classes when they needed extra support

  • Tutoring took place in person when possible and if student was not able to meet in person tutoring could take place via a phone conversation.

SKILLS:

Within previous positions, effective time management to complete all tasks in a timely fashion. The ability to creatively question students to determine what their level of understanding of the concept is. While being a teacher, you must also be wiling to be a student, for teachers are constantly engaged in taking professional development classes covering all best practices in instruction, behavior management. The ability to effectively time, being self-motivated epically when teaching a difficult concept, you must modify or tailor the curriculum via creative questioning of the students to determine what they know and what they are having difficulty understanding.
