Melissa Wallace

• This is my current position at Byron Elementary, I work alongside our lead GSRP teacher. I am responsible for following the C4L curriculum, conducting large and small groups while maintaining a warm and inviting classroom experience. I am responsible for home visits, parent teacher conferences as well as logging childrens growth in the COR data base. I attend IEP meetings as needed and assist in implementing accomodations for children. I take a lot of pride in my roll in Byron Elementary and I am always looking for places to grow and support!

• I took a role as a 3 year old lead teacher to not only grow as a teacher but to grow within my school district. I took a lot of pride in running a growing program within Byron Elementary. I was responsible for planning activities, exercising growth both mentally & socially within young children. It was a position I truly loved! I did this at Byron Elementary for 2 years and recently took a new position in a GSRP classroom within the school.

• While working for Durand I have been familiarized with the rule 54/55 program and working alongside kids with IEPs. I was responsible for assisting with bathroom needs, classroom support and COR entry. I assisted in weekly scheduling of small group activities as well as taking part in the C4L curriculum.

• I have worked in a GSRP classroom as an assistant for the 2019-2020 school year, through the summer months I work with the day camp program attending field trips, conducting cooking and STEM projects. I have obtained my chauffeurs license through this company as well. I also manage the Learning Tree Facebook page as their social media representative.
• I have come back to The Learning tree as a substitute teacher during the summer months I am off work due to public schools being closed over summer break. I was responsible for assisting teachers with breaks, planning time as well as filling in for lead or assistant teachers when they were absent.

• I worked alongside two other teachers at Byron. I supported classroom planning, transitions, and became familiar with the C4L curriculum. I observed, recorded and input COR notes into the COR website. I attended monthly staff meetings, ECE data meetings as well as planning time with a lead teacher daily.

While working at Airport Road Childhood learning center I obtained my CDA credential, this placed me as a lead teacher in a 2-3 year old toddler classroom. I was responsible for small group activites fostering large and fine motor skills. Daily attendance, meal times as well as specials were part of our daily routine.

• In my spare time or days off while working at Airport Road Childhood learning center I was given a role to assist as an office assistant. I would frequently check and update files, maintain and update our procare system which tracks personal records and tuition.
