Based on my experience and skills, I have a strong background in leadership, team building, networking, and fundraising. My ability to connect and lead people of different backgrounds, delegate responsibilities, and listen to feedback make me an effective leader. Additionally, my creativity and ingenuity allow me to develop programs that cater to diverse members of the community while generating revenue.

My experience in the non-profit sector has honed my fundraising skills, particularly in developing relationships with donors and influential community members. My problem-solving and task management skills, as well as my administrative and financial expertise, allow me to efficiently and effectively address issues and offer data-driven solutions. Lastly, my bilingualism in English and Spanish is an asset that allows me to communicate effectively with a wider range of people.

  • Successfully reinitiate the Healthy Living Department operations for the Alief, Mark A. Chapman, and Monty Ballard Family YMCAs after the COVID shutdown.

CURRENTLY:

  • Lead the Katy area Ys Healthy Living Department. About 100 direct employees and the largest department which corresponds to >60% of members utilization.
  • Focused on staff hiring and development, I created two levels of leadership to ensure smooth operations and motivated staff. These leaders are ready to take over my responsibilities when I transition to another position.
  • Achieve financial effectiveness through (2022) budget building ($540k), payroll (-15%), revenue (+3%) and expenses (-7%) management while committing to the organization's mission.
  • Support the Katy Ys leadership team with various initiatives, such as securing renting spaces contracts for the Mark A Chapman YMCA in 2022 and raising funds through Annual Campaign and Turkey Dash.
  • Recruited two new Board Members and created successful events to promote the YMCA's mission.
  • Create new partnerships with volunteer-based organizations in Katy, and brought YMCA International services to the Katy community.
  • Belong to four groups that are working at the national and local level to strategize and implement new ideas to improve staff and member's achiveness, connectiveness and belonging throughout the organization.

  • (*) Chuck's Shrimp Jan 2010 - April 2010 we had just bought a group of three trucks to sell fresh shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico. However, after 2010 gulf spill, we have to close the business as we were unable to recover from the financial loses.

As an immigrant new to the language and culture, this was the best way for me to produce income to help support my family. Therefore, I developed these business both from ground up, manage all administrative task and lead operations. After losing our shrimp business in 2010, I closed both businesses and decided to pursue fitness while supporting my husband's career a raising children.
