I have been working for the California department of corrections and rehabilitation for 13 in two different institutions, One year in Ironwood State Prison and 12 years in Chukawalla Valley State Prison. I have experience in treating patients and responding to different types of emergency situations. In my current role as an LVN in CVSP, I'm assigned to different yards as the Second watch LVN. My duties is to administer scheduled morming medications to the patients in the yard. After completing that task, I have to prepare the patients charts that the Doctor will see for that day, Including taking Vitals signs, checking the chart for specific lab results, notes from the outside specialty Doctors appointment, administer vaccines when the Doctor orders it that day, Dressing changes after the Doctor conducts a follow up assessment for the patients wounds. I am also working as the First Watch LVN in Outpatient housing unit for admitted patients in the facility. I conduct every 2 hour rounds to check the patients status, administer scheduled medication and respond to emergencies when needed.
