I have found a passion in providing care that will help my patients feel mentally and physically cared for. Throughout my seven years of healthcare experience I have learned and utilized many skills that deliver exceptional care for my patients. Skills include but are not limited to; prioritizing patient care, adapting to different environments, being able to act quickly in fast paced situations, working together as a unit, and analyzing details to provide the best solutions.
Working as a Labor and Delivery nurse has allowed me provide specialized care and support to expectant mothers during childbirth while monitoring fetal and maternal health, administering medications, assisting with pain management, and offering emotional guidance throughout the labor and delivery process.
During my shifts as an HCT, I assist the nursing staff and provide personal care and hygiene needs to patients. I receive a report on assigned patients as directed by the RN and ensure accurate documentation. I demonstrate competency in measuring vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and measuring and recording intake and output. I assist patients with daily activities and mobility while providing emotional support and empathy
Working as a Medical Assistant provided me with a foundation of healthcare. The position consists of preparing patients for their doctor's visit by getting vitals, fetal heart tones, medical history and updating medications. I worked directly with Physicians assisting in office procedures such as colposcopies, IUD insertions, endometrial biopsies, and LEEP procedures. I administered vaccinations and birth control. I assisted patients with scheduling follow up appointments and appointment recalls and medication refill requests as well.
Working as a Teachers Aid consisted of helping preschoolers gain a foundation in learning, and social and emotional skills. I created weekly schedules that followed an educational curriculum to help the children learn outside of the home. I assisted with parent teacher conferences and ASQ (Ages and Stages Questionnaires) to ensure children were on track and parental goals were being met.
