LPN, then RN

01.1998 - 01.2018
  • Over this 20 year span I worked as a LPN; then RN. I worked in various positions in the nursing industry including patient care, supervising staff, staff education, teaching/training, scheduling, maintaining accurate records, home health, hospice, emergency care, and dialysis. I decided to leave the nursing profession due to “burn-out” and no longer wanting to work in a clinical setting. I loved my patients and spending time with them, but my heart and passion were not in the job. The experience and knowledge I obtained during this time is valuable due to it having cultivated my skill set, ability to work under pressure, and developing my people skills.

Communication

I truly believe a workplace is only as good as the communication in the place. Communication is a must when working in a school setting. Without communication, everything would be chaos and would greatly compromise the children’s learning environment.

Leadership

I have served as our church’s secretary for the last 3 years. I am responsible for scheduling on the calendar, keeping everyone informed through texts/social media, I document the minutes for all of our business meetings and transcribe them to the computer, and I also handle any church letter requests, etc.
