I enrolled into the college to utilize my artistic skills to achieve a career in Industrial Designing because I like to work with my hands and build things. The college offered a program that encompassed achieving a Bachelors degree in multiple fields from architect and building design to sculpturing or basically being able to take whats created on paper and actually turning into life. I was wanting to get into automotive designing and Ford Motor Company sponsored the curriculum that I was wanting to achieve.
Unfortunately I was young and struggling on my own and had to drop out due to financial struggles.
Thanks to the recognition of my management and prowess in providing customer service as a contractor to the district in the services of the fire protection equipment, I was given the opportunity to take a position in the Electronic Controls department. This opportunity provided an enhancement in my skills by providing me the support needed to grow into the electronic field and provided the skills needed in maintaining the integrity of the integrated systems and equipment providing safety and security for the district. This experience of maintaining the systems and equipment provided an understanding of the importance on how it is being utilized throughout the district and provide the security department and staff administrators the tools needed in protecting the students, staff, property and visitors to the facilities. Recognizing the importance of the collaborate efforts of departments between I.T. Risk Management, Security, Maintenance and Operations, Environmental, and staff administrators at our schools, it also gave me the understanding of the importance of my departments role and responsibilities in maintaining and monitoring the integrity of the infrastructure to ensure things perform as intended and how it is critical in providing a safe environment throughout the district.
