I have a Patient care technician certificate, EKG technician certificate and also a BSL certificate that I was able to obtain during my junior and senior year of high school. My school offered a program for students who would like to peruse a health care field career. Its a p-tech program called Richardson Healthcare Career Academy. I was able to take college courses and obtain my certifications through NHA. I also did clinical rotations at Methodist Richardson Medical Center where I shadowed/observed nurses in different levels for example I was able to shadow a RN who worked in the post-partum level I observed how she checked the patients where stable and ready to be discharged. Another experience was being able to observe a RN working in the cancer unit or an RN who worked in the mammography unit. Through these experience I saw what it is to work under a heavy amount of pressure yet balancing the work load making sure the patient's health is the main concern. I was also able to communicate to patients and be a translator for patients who faced a language barrier between their health care givers. I made sure all the patients needs where met and their satisfaction rate was to the hospital standards.
As of right now I have no job experience but I am a hard worker and can work in a team setting also I have good time management skills. I'm a current student attending UTA I'm a commuter who shows time efficiency. My goal is to graduate with a BSN and I believe this job position will offer experience and growth in the health care field.
