Traveling

I love to get out and explore new places! One of my favorite trips was to the Smoky Mountains. There I was able to hike up the Chimney Tops Mountain, which is one of the few bare rock summits in the Smokies. I looked at different organisms such as slugs, mushrooms, moss, and plant life. It was incredible to see all of the different biodiversity within the trail I had hiked. I also have traveled to the Grand Canyon, which was one of the places off my bucket list. I was able to collect the different colored sands to take home! Looking at all the different layers of rock within the Grand Canyon was super cool and got me thinking about how long it must have taken for those layers to deposit and harden like that.

Environmental Science and Conservation Interest

I am extremely passionate about Environmental Science and Conservation. I have taken multiple courses in the Natural Science field and am on track to complete my ENV specialization in sustainability and resource management BS degree within the 2024 school year. After obtaining my BS degree I would like to pursue a MS degree in Environmental Science. With this degree I would like to start working as a park ranger and in the field of forest conservation. I also wouldn't mind learning more about Forestry. I try to do my best to aid in the conservation of water, and waste production as much as I can in my everyday life. I believe that it is extremely important to try and conserve the natural resources that we have because we are so limited. I also am passionate about the upkeep of National parks due to its environmental importance to wildlife and the general well being of its surrounding ecosystem.
