  • President of Black Student Union: I support and plan activities for African American students, including organizing an HBCU panel for those interested in historically Black colleges and universities.
  • Diversity Outreach Project Enterprise (DOPE): As a member, I help plan activities with other affinity groups, including roundtable discussions on important diversity issues.
  • Institute of Public Purpose: A course for citizenship, service, and participatory democracy. On our trip to Washington D.C. we met with government officials and attorneys.
  • Girls Advancing in Stem (GAINS): I attended the GAINS conference at the University of Chicago. I also completed a few labs such as egg dropping, cyanotyping, and electrical circuits.
  • Honor Board representative of the grade: Encouraging students to hold the academic expectations of our school community.
  • Bridges: Mentoring middle school students of color at my school, sharing my experiences with them, and generally offering support.
  • Varsity Track and Field: I have qualified every year to compete at the NEPSTA Division I championships in both the 100 and 200 meters. I currently hold the second-best times in my school's history for these events and rank third overall for the long jump.
  • Junior Varsity Basketball: I received the Hoops Award for being the leading scorer on my team throughout the season.

I participated in the Books for Africa program in Atlanta, GA, where I packaged books as part of a summer initiative to be sent to Africa.

Extracurricular Activities

  • Metro New York National Black MBA Association Leaders of Tomorrow Program: As a participant, starting in January I meet weekly with mentors in NYC and engage in corporate site visits, including Estée Lauder. I prepared a Black History presentation to be shared with the group in February 2024. Additionally, I prepared for a business case competition at American University.



  • The Small Things: I read to children in Tanzania via Zoom as much as possible. My virtual sessions aim to create engaging and interactive experiences that enhance their learning. This initiative allows me to connect with young learners and make a positive impact on their educational journey.
