Description of Work
The incumbent has primary investigative responsibilities for violations of the title 11 of the Revised Yakama Code, Sex Offender Registration Code. Including but not limited to the the Sex Offender Registration Program (SORP); and the monitoring apprehending, registering and tracking of registered sex offenders. The incumbent is a sworn commissioned officer subject to 24 hour- hour on call status. As assigned , investigates, and detains all persons suspected of violating Tribal, Federal, State, and local laws. Ensures all investigations are conducted and documented in accordance with prescribed guidelines and protocols. Compiles, analyzes data, develops training and educational curriculum and power point presentations, attends meetings, and facilitates community outreach.
Responsible for administering contacts related to SORP and those delegated by the Chief of Police. Responsible for meeting audit needs for these contracts and for assisting in audit responses and resolution when needed. Performs research for grants related to department needs and compiles data for use in applications. Assists Grants and Contracts in developments of proposals that meet the needs of the program/department, review requirements, assist planning of actual program, and research to provide documentation and facts. Must perform production activities of proposal drafts, design, polish and review prior to internal processing.

Performs a full range of law enforcement and criminal investigative duties, including but not limited to SORP, utilizing law enforcement knowledge, skills and training.
Assists with federal investigations of Title 18 USC 2250 Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Will primarily investigate violations of title 11 of the Revised Yakama Law and Order Code, Sex Offender Registration Notification Act (SORNC).
