Ride Maintenance Technician

  • Performed inspections, maintenance and running repairs on multiple rides, railroad equipment including: 3 locomotives, various types of rolling stock, all while adhering to DOSH and OSHA regulations to insure the safety and reliability.
  • Track condition of equipment, organize work groups, assign projects, and oversee work performed by locomotive Engineers/Firemen to ensure safety, reliability and proper performance of railroad equipment
  • Takes initiative to research and seek out assistance to rebuild and test Westinghouse steam-powered air compressors, and brake components.
  • Daily, weekly, monthly and annual inspections on assigned rides to ensure the rides are operational.
  • Assisted with projects all over the park on various rides and within the theme park.
  • Performed diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures to find and identify root causes of mechanical issues.

  • Carryout inspections as well as leading work groups in various repairs ranging from minor to major while utilizing many specialty tools as well as heavy equipment like forklifts and cranes.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and pneumatic systems in order to identify and repair those systems on a train some which are well over a mile in length and are stuck on the main line, in order to facilitate train movement.
  • In the absence of a supervisor on our shift as the lead carmen it was also my responsibility to give direction to the work crew to make sure our team was completing the necessary work for that shift.
  • After completing my shift it was imperative to record all work completed for that shift. All this work was held to Federal Railroad Administration standards to insure safe movement of freight trains.
