I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S), certified by the Oklahoma State Board of Behavioral Health. My primary goal is helping people to overcome various challenges and obstacles in their lives, navigate and provide guidance to complex problems and reduce pain and suffering. I received a Bachelor's degree in psychology at Oklahoma State University, a Master's degree in Human Relations and clinical mental health from the University of Oklahoma. My work experience consists of outpatient therapy services including in home services, community mental health, school-based counseling and private contract therapy. I provide therapeutic services to a diverse population and a broad range of demographics including children/adolescents, adults, and couples/marriages struggling with social, emotional, psychological and behavioral problems. I have experience working with clients who have difficulties managing anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, social, emotional and interpersonal conflicts. Further experience has lent me the opportunity to gain pragmatic skills to effectively provide services within group and family systems focusing on improved dynamics, healthy relationships and conflict resolution. The approaches in methods I use stem from multiple therapeutic modalities including person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, psychodynamics, solution-focused therapy, play therapy and family therapy. Using the therapeutic process approach, I incorporate the aforementioned therapeutic modalities emphasizing on CBT, person-centered, psychodynamic and exposure therapy. All of these therapeutic methods can be found in my preferred model, “Process Model of Helping” (PMH). PMH is a three-stage model of exploration, insight and action integrated with CBT, person-centered and psychodynamics. This model involves the therapist working with the client to provide directed guidance and exploration in examining one’s thoughts and feelings, diving deep into the reasons why these thoughts and feelings are occurring and then promoting agency. Ultimately, the objective is to help facilitate productive avenues leading to meaningful and purposeful lives.
