  • I conduct weekly meetings with both the service and construction managers to discuss work flow and project updates through WIP reports.
  • I handle all the hiring for the company and also deal with any dismissals and disciplinary actions.
  • I also manage our office in Calgary with similar description to what is done in Vancouver, with a direct focus on growing our companies name in that market.

  • I worked closely with our estimating team to review any out going tenders to make sure we had covered all our costs and that our margins were in line with the current market.
  • I was in charge of making sure our our coordinators and PM's handle the start up for any awarded jobs with a strong sense of urgency and efficiency, identify all lead times and keeping the GC up to speed on any delayed equipment.
  • I would review contracts (CCDC)for awarded jobs with my PM team to make sure it is accurate and that it reflects exactly what we quoted, with relation to scope and costs.
  • I handled manpower allocation to all our sites and projects, making sure we focused on utilizing our Team efficiently. My approach has always been up front hard, back end easy.
  • I worked closely with our site foreman to stay current with our respective projects and how they moved along with the schedule. I would request reports from our working foreman, detailing what could potentially be a problem moving forward.
  • I would develop a relationship with the project management team (GC), to help assist in any way I could.
  • I was in control of making sure our Team was purchasing wisely and help improve our margins by working with suppliers for best pricing.
  • I made sure our field team did not deviate from the scope of work without out any consent through a change order or change directive.
  • I would make time to sit in on construction meetings with my foreman to listen to how the project is moving along and identify any issues with the schedule.
  • I was responsible for making sure our respective Teams were conducting their toolbox and safety meetings as required, as well as making sure we had the adequate tools to complete the job.
  • I made sure our technicians were current with their safety training and operating tickets.
  • I would coordinate site lunches as a reward for the Teams hard work.
  • Once a job came to a finish, I would follow up with our project Team to make sure they have all their documents in order for our closeout manuals.
  • Surveyed sites to determine material needs and accurately manage inventories and budgets.
  • I would assist in pricing change orders and gathering site info for our construction Team to accurately price any change request.
  • I would assist in pricing smaller TI projects, if our estimators were too busy.
  • I would coordinate a bi weekly meeting with the construction Team to review our current jobs and all projects that we were bidding, to better understand our manpower requirements for the upcoming months.
  • I was responsible for any disciplinary actions required on site due to any misconduct.
  • I made sure our technicians represented the company by wearing their company assigned work clothes.
  • I had the responsibility of approving holidays for our field crew and making sure it did not effect the overall performance on the site.
  • I would remind our crew that they stay diligent on reviewing incoming invoices from the suppliers to identify any discrepancies from the PO that was issued for said invoice.
  • My team and I would meet once a month to review all progress billing and to make sure all our sub contractors submit their invoices in a timely manor.
  • I conducted all field staff annual performance reviews. I would report back to upper management with my reviews and recommendations.
  • I was responsible for updating upper management and ownership at any given time with regards to current work load, site concerns, equipment lead times, manpower requirements and any future financial forecasts based on the WIP reports created by our PM's.

  • I conducted the hiring process to begin to develop the new division within Somatic HVAC. I was able to build up a division that had 35 plumbers working both Service and Construction.

  • I assisted other coworkers with pricing their respective quotes and reviewing them for any missed costs or inadequate labour allowances
