- I would review the board in the office to determine what chemical we were manufacturing and then gather the necessary ingredients from the warehouse. I would then pump in the different ingredients using either a centrifugal pump or air pump, using an electronic scale to determine the correct weight was used and to ensure the product was held to the highest standards. Once the ingredients were in the mix kettle, I would place the kettle in recirculation and turn on the mixer for a determined amount of time. I would take a sample to the lab, to make sure the product was up to the company and customer's standards. Once the product passed the standards and checks, it would be pumped into a holding tank, where the production line would package it. I would then use the system to move and consume ingredients from the system in order to keep the inventory matching, and to ensure the customer was billed correctly. I would have to order ingredients from the shipping warehouse or the offsite warehouse in order to stay ahead of production. I would stage ingredients to remain ahead of production. I had to maintain a cleanly work area and sometimes break down equipment and clean it or perform minor repairs. I, on occasion would have to hook up chemical trailers and railcars. I always strived to follow all the plant and OSHA safety protocols.

- I would either make a "slurry" or operate the mayonnaise pump. A slurry was a mixture of ingredients that would be mixed together in a large kettle and when fully mixed would get pumped into a larger kettle. Working with mayonnaise pump required me to pump several canisters into a large kettle and add bags of sugar. I had to break down my work station at the end of the day, clean it and put it back together.
